In the 19th century, Absinthe Fountains were extremely popular; usually in high class bars and clubs which is not always so now. In today’s bar scene absinthe fountains are becoming increasingly popular. This fountain features metallic metal plating with an eloquently carved design and features a mouth blown “acorn” glass bowl. It has a liquid capacity of 68 ounces and can serve up to 4 people at a time. By slightly turning the spigot, ice cold water is slowly dripped over your sugar cube and into your absinthe glass. (Absinthe sugar and glasses sold seperatly)In Absinthe Mixology, the classic French ritual involves placing a sugar cube on a flat perforated spoon that rests on the rim of the glass that contains a measure or “dose” of absinthe. Iced water is then slowly dripped onto the sugar cube. The sugar cube then gradually dissolves and drips, combined with the water, into the absinthe, causing the green liquor to louche (“loosh”) into an opaque white as the essential oils precipitate out of the alcoholic solution. Each wrapped pack contains 2 sugar cubes (that measure a little over 1/2 of an inch in width) and are sold in a package of 20 packets (40 cubes).
